PLAID AVENGER: bumper sticker

The publishing company wanted a bumper sticker to promote the Plaid Avenger book. I created this in about 4 hours, and I am pretty happy with it. A little humor and it contains the characters in the book. I asked the publisher if I could get a few bumper stickers, so family members cross your fingers, maybe Xmas stocking stuffers....not sure yet.

concept Art: Trick of Treat
This is the Halloween special for Conceptart.org's "Creature of the week". I gave it a shot. I think I could've done better, but I have been frustrated with my art for the past couple of days. Specifically I have had a lot of trouble with digital painting. Usually this frustrations happens when I am about to make a leap in art, or have reached a plateau and am remaining steady stylistically. Hope it is the first of those two. Anyway with no further adu, here is my piece:

sketch book: Big Pirate character
So I was thinking I might do a pirate vs. ninja scene in 3D for my final reel (considering I talk about it so much). Anyway, I have to design two characters, here is the pirate design I have so far. I didn't want the guy to be a captain, just a sort of grunt character. All comments and ideas are welcome. Also, I drew out an ortho just in case I wanted to start the modeling process.

concept Art: World War I, Secret Special Unit, The Wizzard
This is another conceptArt.org weekly competition for Character design. This weeks topic was "World War I, Secret Special Unit, The Wizzard". I wanted an old sniper who is a dead shot, and I wanted him to be named the Wizard due to his long beard. This was my final concept, I included some development pictures. The whole design took about 2 and a half hours to finish.

Accounting Book
The publishing company that hired me to do work on the Plaid Avenger World Regions book has asked me to work on another book. This one is a really "Lame" book as they put it, that they want to make more interesting for the students using illustrations. It is a book that explains how to use excel. The main characters are used to excentuate quick keys and using the menu bars (aka fast and slow ways to use the program). So I thought of using the tortoise and the hair analogy, and they liked the idea. Here are the initial concepts.

concept Art: No Legs, No Wings, Incredibly fast
conceptart.org/forum submission:
The Moxie is an amphibian who lives in the swamplands and feeds off small bugs. Roughly the size of a lemon, he is composed of very lightly structured organs and bones. His internal system breaks down H2O into Helium, and stores it in a sac, which expands his lower torso. Moxies float while filled with Helium, awaiting small bugs, and with speed undetectible to the human eye, they strick by rapidly releasing their Helium from their rear oraphus, igniting the helium, and propelling their bodies forward to attack their prey.

So, our first term is over with FINALLY! My modeling teacher told our class to do some anatomy studies over break. So I drew out an ortho and started using my anatomy books to model this guy out. It is turning out pretty well. I started this morning, so this is about 7 hours of work so far (I modeled from 12pm-7pm straight). Anyway, still much work to do.
